2018 StayTreat

Every August, we come together for a weekend to provide a time and a place where we can grow together in fun and fellowship as a church family outside of Sundays. We’re glad that you could join us for this 2018 time together!
At this point, our official registration is closed, but you can definitely still join us! Please just send us a note
and let us know how many adults and children are coming so we can plan accordingly! Thank you!
“COUNTDOWN”
According to the Bible, human history is winding down. But according to human nature, everything is ramping up! How can we maintain an eternal perspective and not get swept up by pressure, pride, and performance? You can only find out when you are (1)on your mark, (2)get set, (3) and still.

Discussion Questions:
1. Do you know people who seem to constantly be making excuses for themselves (don’t mention names!)? Why do people tend to do this?
2. Read Luke 9:57-62. What three categories of excuses did the people in this passage make?
3. What excuses did Moses use to excuse himself from what God wanted him to do?
4. What common excuse(s) do you use to exempt yourself from faithfulness and devotion to Christ?
5. Find biblical responses that address your excuses from God’s perspective.
6. Read Psalm 46. Why would God instruct us to ‘be still’ after everything He said in this psalm?
7. What are some of the spiritual benefits of being still? (see Romans 10:17; James 1:19; Psalm 37:7-9)
8. Are we more faithful to God when we’re still or when we’re moving? (see James 1:22; Hebrews 2:1) What determines the difference?
What are the most important lessons you’ve learned this weekend to apply to your life? How will you being to apply them? Who will you tell about what you’ve decided?
